I had the privilege of seeing my friend’s solo comedy special at the theater, and I’m still thinking about it days later. Centered on her years-long journey of trying to get pregnant—with all its heartbreak, absurdity, and emotional landmines—the show was equal parts hilarious and moving.
What she managed to do on stage was nothing short of extraordinary: she took something so personal and vulnerable and transformed it into a story that felt universally relatable. There were belly laughs. There were moments where the entire audience held its breath. And there was something incredibly cathartic about watching someone speak so openly—and so funny—about a topic that’s often wrapped in silence or shame.
Her storytelling was sharp, self-awa...

In Inconceivable, Alice Cutler strikes a heartfelt balance of comedy and can-you-fucking-believe-it calamity to challenge what you think you know about abortion, conception, and what it means to be a parent. The subject matter (along with Alice’s physical comedy, hysterical in its accuracy) will be instantly relatable to fertility adventurers who have embarked on the IVF journey and awe-inspiring for audience members who are being introduced to the process through the show. Punchy bits of Alice’s signature stand-up comedy punctuate poignant moments of disappointment and despair and invite the room to breathe. When you finally arrive at house lights up, you’ll sit there wondering how the hell this woman of steel fortified herself to share the...

Alice Cutler's Inconceivable is a rare treat: the kind of show that makes you laugh and cry, and often both at the same time. She takes her extremely personal story and invites the audience to join her on the journey and even though we may know where she'll eventually end up (it's right there in the title!), we experience every emotional step of the journey with her. The hour-long show flies by as Cutler turns what could have been a dour experience into one that's full of laughter and humanity....

Alice Cutler’s Inconceivable is a breathtakingly vulnerable and deeply human solo show. With raw honesty and unshakable courage, she invites us into the tender, often unspoken world of the fertility journey. Alice delivers it—with humor, grace, and an authenticity that lingers long after the lights go down.
It takes immense bravery to bring such a personal story to the stage, and Alice does so with a generosity that makes the audience feel both seen and connected. Inconceivable isn’t just a show about fertility—it’s a testament to resilience, the power of storytelling, and the healing that comes from speaking truth out loud....

I really loved Inconceivable. Alice took her heartbreaking and trying experience and translated it to the stage in an incredibly engaging, heart wrenching/warming and humorous way. I enjoyed the multi-media aspects, the physical comedy and the political statements the show made. She has stage presence! Throughout the show, I felt like she was speaking to me individually. Bravo! And thank you :)...

Go see "Inconceivable" and witness the touching performance by Alice Cutler ! You will laugh/cry through her incredible touching journey. A brave and raw show of personal struggle navigating through challenging obstacles to conceive a child with her dear husband, Vince. With stealth comedic timing, Alice faces and shares all the hardships with an honest and open conversation to the audience. Thank you, Alice (& Vince who directed) for sharing your story with us. My heart is full now knowing about your dear Evelyn. May we all learn from your experience and gather strength for others who need healing as well....

As a Clinical Psychologist and a bereaved mother with lived experience, I found Alice’s show profoundly relatable — I wanted to cry, laugh and scream, often within the span of just a few minutes. Her storytelling captures the raw, complex reality of reproductive journeys with honesty and passion. This isn’t just a show for those who have faced infertility or baby loss; it’s a powerful experience for anyone who has navigated their own path to parenthood....

“Inconceivable,” Alice Cutler’s story of her and her husband’s (Vince Giovanni, also the very talented director) years-long efforts to have a baby, was heartbreaking yet filled with humor that prompted many smiles and often bursts of laughter. She took the audience vividly through their painful and sometimes dehumanizing infertility treatments. She deftly brought us into her world not only as a patient but also as a vulnerable but strong woman, enhanced by winsome images from her past projected on a screen. Finally, Alice confronts the most difficult decision of her life, one faced frequently by many couples but rarely discussed. Her resolution brings the show to a poignant conclusion and raises awareness of the trauma caused by terminations...

Knowing Alice for over 20 years, I had the privilege of seeing her grow as an artist and a human being. This show was a culmination of joy, sadness, honestly, reality and life all rolled up into a ball of amazing artistry. We watched someone who had to go through one of the most difficult things possible and have the courage to leave it all out on the field for us, as they say. She used her pain to create a very entertaining, poignant and thought provoking show that I'm still thinking about a week later. I think this show is very important and relatable to many women who go through this, but don't have the ability to talk about it. I absolutely loved it!...

Alice Cutler has created a funny, moving show from a wealth of personal experience with infertility as well as the seldom discussed topic of abortion for medical reasons. Many, many women (and the partners of those women) can relate, but even those who, luckily, have had no such experience will laugh and cry as Alice takes them on her journey. ...
