On the open road, it’s the trucker’s call for location (where are you right now?) But in life, it’s the question we spend a lifetime trying to answer. Mami, What’s Your 20? is the award-winning solo show written and performed by Nadeen Gautier, a Bronx-born Puerto Rican woman who ended up in Los Angeles, and who decides the best way to reinvent herself, make more money and still make it to her kids’ field trips, is to get her Commercial Driver’s License. What could go wrong? Through a chorus of 15 characters, original dance, spoken word and the kind of humor that sneaks up on you, this is a story about the roads we didn’t plan to take. The women who shaped us without knowing it. And the moment you realize that where you came from is exactly where you needed to become THECAKE! Part comedy, part dance, part love letter to every woman who ever had to talk her way out of a jam. Mami, What’s Your 20? will make you laugh until something unexpected hits you right in the chest.
