Reality Check by Kim Clevenger deserved the standing ovation she received. It was humorous, deep, thoughtful, and clever. I laughed - guffawed actually at times and also had tears in my eyes. Kim's physicality, singing voice, stage presence and heart - made it a performance I could believe in. I would see it again and again. Plus her singing voice is beautiful - as is she. This was by far one of the best one-woman plays I’ve ever seen. Normally with a one woman show, it is a difficult task to hold the attention of an audience for an entire hour. Marissa Fennell didn’t struggle for a second with that. The show was funny and real. It had effortless transitions between the storyline and the stand-up which was an inner monologue. She created an entire world with minimal props and her transitions between characters was seamless.
