“The Book of Sirens” – a performance of Art Shelter//ProEnglish Theatre from Kyiv, Ukraine
The book of sirens was staged in the bomb shelter//theatre of Kyiv during March 2022. It was premiered on Apr 09 and streamed at FB page of ProEnglish Theatre and with fellow theatres pages worldwide.
- a story of a little German town of Molching being constantly bombed during World War II
- a story of a little girl Liesel who learnt to read in a bomb shelter
- a story that repeats
based on the book of Markus Zusak “The Book Thief” as well as the books of Hector Abad Faciolince and an extract of his “The Oblivion We Shall Be”
You will also hear: soviet radio announcements of WWII, live piano, soviet war songs, “Moonlight Serenade” tune and some sirens
