About the Show
Kim Clevenger relocated from Kansas City to Los Angeles in 2002, with plans of chasing her dreams to become the next Pat Benatar or Nastassja Kinski. She soon found herself working for a high school drama friend, recruiting talent for a network television dating show. She cast the female lead in that series, then spent the next 20 years working as a reality TV development producer and casting director. She’s interviewed everyone from heiresses to hot rod builders, as well as fascinating folks from every imaginable walk of life in between. She loves digging deep and finding out what makes people tick – what they’re passionate about. Their fears. Their dreams. But what about her own?
Reality Check explores how Kim got to where she is today – 25 years clean & sober from alcohol and cocaine, 15 years off sugar & other addictive foods and down 85 pounds, healing from the grief of losing her beloved mom to ALS, in therapy for C-PTSD due to childhood trauma, and now, in full-blown menopause taking hormone replacement therapy. She’s done the work! It is her mission to help other women recover, heal, and reinvent themselves at any time, at any age. Now that her casting career has come to a screeching halt, it’s time for her to refocus on her dreams and take her own advice. Life is short. It’s never too late. It’s time for a Reality Check!
