What starts off as an escape from an unhappy home spirals into an odyssey of close encounters on the dark side of the beach. This autobiographical 60-minute solo show vividly captures the mayhem and magic of growing up in Miami during the ’80s & ’90s, when it was the drug and modeling capital of the US.
With the eye of a journalist and the poise of a former runway model using storytelling, music, spoken word, and multimedia, Kim transforms personal chaos into art and humor— tracing her healing journey and rewriting her story from victim to victor, detailing how she finally stopped running and turned to face her fears — and into the spotlight of transformation through therapy, music, yoga, meditation, poetry, self defense classes, and last but not least, storytelling.
