It's All a Joke is one of the most entertaining hours I've spent in the theater. It's part standup, part characters, and a lot of laughs. Marissa does an excellent job of keeping the audience engaged as she navigates the apocalypse with a sense of humor. Underneath the laughs, there is a heartfelt, deeper message--when the world ends, what gifts do we share with each other? For Marissa, it's laughter, the most healing gift of all. Her talented husband, David Hardy, opens the show with his hilarious standup.... full review

This was by far one of the best one-woman plays I’ve ever seen. From the moment Marissa touched the stage, the writing had the audience hooked — the jokes landed effortlessly, keeping us laughing from start to finish. But this show was so much more than a laugh riot. Marissa took us on a true emotional rollercoaster, allowing us to empathize deeply with the character and witness her growth in real time. The stage work was impeccable — every scene was crystal clear, vividly etched into the collective imagination of the audience. I was truly blown away. This is a masterpiece.... full review

I've only seen one one-woman show prior to seeing 'It's All a Joke' starring Marissa Fennell. It was ok... not really my speed. So naturally I was a little skeptical on what I'd get with this show. This show blew my mind!!! I didn't know watching one person on stage for 90 minutes could hold my attention. Marissa did just that! Her ability to tell her story, make us laugh, cry... and then laugh again was masterful to say the least. I'm sad to see the short run as I now want to share and bring others to see it. If you have the ability to see this show... I implore you to buy those tickets before you miss out on something great!!! ... full review

This show is everything you could possibly want -- it's a comedy, it's a drama, it's a character piece, it's a nail-biter! I couldn't have been more enthralled. Marissa's gifts know no bounds, and this is a testament to every one of them. 12/10 would recommend to everyone I know!!... full review

“It’s all extraordinary and original”, that should be the subtitle of this show. “It’s all a Joke” a time stamp of irrevocable humor, joy and masterfully written material. Not one show I’ve seen (specially a one woman show) be this clear, hysterical, emotionally creative, and proficient while being funny, AND THATS JUST THE FIRST 5 MINUTES. This incredible rollercoaster, generates crazy endorphins in you that keeps you fully engaged desiring and eager to see whats next?! It’s written and performed with integrity, accountability, acceptance, fear, Doubt, Love, heart, HUMOR, and transparency. The clairvoyant mind one must have like a Marissa Fennell (The writer, Actress, Comedian, Director, Author) to see a future apocalyptic one women show ... full review

Normally with a one woman show, it is a difficult task to hold the attention of an audience for an entire hour. Marissa Fennell didn’t struggle for a second with that. The show was funny and real. It had effortless transitions between the storyline and the stand-up which was an inner monologue. She created an entire world with minimal props and her transitions between characters was seamless. It was incredibly funny and opening with David Hardy’s stand-up set really set the show up in a hilarious way. They are a talented and funny duo. Loved it. ... full review
